ONEHUNGA COUNCIL.
CHANGING OF TRAM STOP,
Tiio Onehunga Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. E. Morton,
presiding. ' I It, was decided to send letters ol condolence to the relatives of the late Captain Wing, 'ho lalo Mr. A. Olncy, and dto late Mr. W. Uartlott, old residents of the borough.
Several residents of Turama Road wrote asking for protection in connection with the proposal to change the tramstop to Rose Road. The Transport Board asked thu council to come to an early decision with the Mount Roskill Road Board, the local body which urged the change. Mr. S. Veila, speaking also as a member of the Royal Oak school committee, said that it was largely in tho. interests of tiio children that the ro&d board desired the stop to bo moved. It was decided to approach tho road board and endeavour to meet its wishes by asking the Transport Board to let the tram stop at Rose Road between ft.3o and 9 a.m., and between 3 and 3.30 p.m. A donation of £1 Is was promised' to the. Labour Day Celebration Committee, and ono of £2 2s to the St. John Anilnilanco Association. It was resolved to act as a domain board, as suggested by tho commissioner of Crown lands, to take over as a public park, under tho title of The Ferguson Domain, the reserves at the foot of Omana Road.
A request from tho Onohunga-Mamtkau Chamber of Commorco for the immediate erection of a women's rest room on. tho sito already purchased will bo considers in committee. , Eight building permits, including for dwellings, were issued during I fortnight.
