BUILDING IN PARNELL. Construction of a new block of flats, to be known as Brighton Ilall, has been commenced in Brighton Koad, off St. Stephen's Avenue, Parnell. 'I he building, of brick and concrete, will be in a modified Spanish style, roofed with Spanish tiles and is expected to cost about £15.000.
Tho design, which was prepared by Mr. I>. Crocombc, provides for 14 flats, on three storeys, while four garages aro included in the building. All the flats will have private, front and back entrances, while 12 of them have two bedrooms, a living room, a sleeping porch, kitchenette and b;ithrnom. Open fireplaces nro to be provided in each flat, with a central hot-water service. There is half an aero of space in tho grounds, allowing ample room for drying purposes. It is expected the building will bo ready for occupation at the beginning of next year. The contractors arc .Mcssij. Watson and Holmes.
