COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

In honour of tho coming of age of Air. Lawrie Scbnauer, a. delightful party was given by his parents, Air. and Airs. C. J. Schnauer, at their homo in Quadrant Itoad, Onehunga, on Saturday even-

Hanging baskets of ferns and trailing wistaria were arranged with effect in tho dance room, and these were thrown into relief by festoons of twinkling fairy lights. Tho lounge was also decorated with hanging baskets of maidenhair fern, and supper was served in the billiard room, where the decorations were carried out in the Grammar colours of blue and gold, of which school Air. Schnauer is an old pupil. Bowls of blue irises, violets and golden daffodils were arranged on the table under tho shadow of green palms, and the wholo room was illuminated by bronze statue lamps, which gave a delightfully colourful effect. To receive her guests Airs. Schnauer wore a black satin frock with Oriental trimming, and Aliss Edna Schnauer wore white chenillo georgette, tho corsage embossed with roses.
