SCHOOL ATHLETICS.

AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION.

SATISFACTORY YEAR REVIEWED. The report of tho committee of the Auckland Secondary Schools' Athletic Sports Association, presented to tho annual meeting, stated that tho first annual championship meeting held in October, 1928, was a real success. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £3l 12s 3d, which would be devoted to the assistance of athletics in schools, the improvement of grounds, and in similar ways. The 1928 senior championship had been won by King's College, with Mount Albert Grammar School runner-up. The junior championship went to Mount Albert Grammar School, with King's College runner-up.

It was decided to hold the championship meeting this year on October 12. The following officers were elected:— President, the, Very Rev. H. K. Archdall; vice-presidents, headmasters of the associated schools; chairman of committee, Bro. Clemens: committee, Messrs. C. N. Nicholls, 11. T. Re veil, 11. L. Towers, P. Smyth, R. M. Webber, and A. W. Short; hon. treasurer. Mr. H. T. Revell; lion, auditor, Mr. 11. W. Shove; hon. secretary, Mr. H. L. Towers.
