LOSS OF FOOTBALLER.
LEAGUE CODE PLAYER. HANLON FOR ENGLAND. Advice has been receiver] in Auckland (lint T. Hanlon, a member of (he Rich mnnd Club, lias accepted an offer lo play League football in England for the Broughton Hangers Club. Arrangements were finalised on Saturday, and Hanlon expects to leave for England by the Rualiine on August 21. Broughton Rangers was at one time a powerful club but. of late has occupied a minor position iti League football. The Richmond player showed considerable promise two seasons ago, when he gave splendid displays at tailback, but his form recently has ( l>een unimpressive. The dnpariure of Hanlon will bring the number ot men lost to Auckland to nine within the. last three years. Tho Wigan ( lnb has had the services of B. Davidson, L. Brown and L. Mason during tho past two seasons, while W. Wilson Hall has played for Leeds for a similar period. Besides these players J. Buckingham. Hamilton, lias been claimed by Swinton, and W. Desmond. Wellington, has been playing foi Huddorsfield. Just recently three Auckland and New Zealand representatives left to fulfil an agreement with the St. Helens League Club in England, namely, R. Hardgrave and T. Hall, Newton, and L. Hutt, Pon sonbv.
