REMANDED FOR SENTENCE
A youth, 19 years of age, Allicrt Ernest Austin, said by 'lie Crown Prosecutor, Mr. Moroditl. to have nrriveil here lately from Sydney as a stowaway on the lili maroa, was 'Heel 111 tho Supreme Court yesterday on a ehargo of criminal assault on a girl lb years ot age. There were four counts. against, him of rape, of unlawful carnal knowledge, of indecent assault and assault Mi Justice Ilerdman heard the enso, and the accused was defended by Mi. Noble. His lie-not, in addressing the jury, directed spccul attention to the second .count ol unlawful carnal knowledge as the one to whicn they should give chief consideration
Tho jury f< und tho accused guilty on the second count and lie was remanded for sentence untl Wednesday.
