STORY TOLD IN COURT.

FATHER GRANTED DIVORCE

The story was told in the Supreme Court to-day of a man's search in various parts of Australia for his little daughter, taken from Dunedin by his wife, who went away with another man. The ease was a divorce petition by William Matthew Brosnan against Isabella Agr.es Brosnan, on the ground of misconduct, the co-respondent being George William Spca rs. It was intimated that answers had not lieon filed by respondent or co-respondent arid the amount of damages had been agreed upon as £SOO from co-respondent. Petitioner stated that lus wile left Duuedin ostensibly to visit Auckland in 1927. When she failed to return he went north to search and subsequently searched in Australia without result Late- at Wellington, in the Government statisticmil's office, he saw a declaration made by a Mr. and Mrs. and the signntuies wero those of his wife and Spears, who was petitioner's brother-in-law Ho traced them to Western Australia and recovered .his daughter. Without leaving the box the jury awarded the £SOO agreed upon and Mr. .Justice Kennedy made a decree nisi.
