WELLINGTON, Friday,

Wlion the Supreme Court, sat this morning for the conclusion of ttic case in which a motor-cvclist, Dcsiro Stephaan, sought £949 damages from James Frederick Lilley, with whose car he had a collision in the Kaiwarra Gorge, counsel for plaintiff announced that a settlement had been arrived at. He asked for judgment by consent for £829, inclusive of costs.

Tho Chief Justice, Hon. M. Myers, ordered judgment to be entered accordingly. He remarked that he was satisfied" the settlement was fair and reasonable to both parties.

The jury in the Supreme Court to-day awarded Audrey Brook Taylor £330 damages for injuries sustained in a collision between a . motor-lorry , owned by the Wellington Express Company and a car in which plaintiff was passenger. It was alleged the accident was due lo the negligence of the lorry-driver. Plaintiff claimed £1039.
