INJURED FOOTBALLERS.
RUGBY UNION MATCHES. * REPLACEMENT OPPOSED. (Received August 1, 8.45 p.m.) SYDNEY. Aug. 1. There is an agitation in Sydney Rugby Union circles to abolish the rulo which permits a team to replace an injured player in tho first half of a game. This occurred in recent matches between the All Blacks and tho Australians. It is described in the press as farcical. It is not allowed by the English or New 'Zealand unions. It is understood that Porter does not approve jf njured men being replaced.
