Bennett, of Palmei'ston North, organiser of tho Associated Booksellers of New Zealand, presided. The objects are lo foster trade goiierally and 'to encourage co-operation. _ It was felt that if tbo booksellers united books could be obtained at a more favourable price from the publishers, to the advantage of both retailer and customer. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. W. J. Stevens: secretary, Mr. B. Martini; executive (with power to add), Messrs. M. W. Mills and G. Gilford (To Awamutu).
