HIGHWAY ROBBERY.
MOTORISTS HELD UP After he had linen held up at (he point of a revolver, a motorist attacked an armed man in Toorak, Victoria, and escaped. Mr. Arthur Tilloy, was driving along Toorak Road :<bout nine o'clock when he stopped to post a letter at a pillar-box. lie then noticed a man, who had a handkerchief ovei his mouth and his hat well down over his forehead, standing on the footpath. He was stepping into the car when tho man came up and, producing a revolver, said, "Give me your money." Although lie had £5 in his possession, Mr. Tilloy told the man that he had no money, and sat down in the car. Just as the iobher said, "Then I am going through your pockets," Mr. Tilloy kicked out, knocking the man to the ground. As the engine of his car had been left running, ho escaped before the man cotdd recover. Another hold-up bv an armed man occurred at Abbotsford. Mr. Murray, of Sale, Gippsland, reported to the police that shortly after 11 o'clock a man sprang out from the footpath and covered him with a revolver. lie was ordered to stop, and tho armed man got in and sat at the steering wheel.
