AUCKLAND ACCIDENTS.
FALL FROM A LADDER.
FAINTER INJURED AT DOCK.
Abdominal injuries were sustained by Mr. P. Everson, aged 40, as the result of falling 40ft. from a ladder at the Calliopo Dock yesterday morning. While painting the side of the vessel Kaikorai, Mr. Everson was standing on a ladder placed against the side of the ship from the deck, when he slipped and fell heavily to the concrete below. The injured man, who resides at 54, Anglesea Street, Ponsonby, was taken across the harbour in a launch and then removed to the hospital in the St. John Ambulance. His condition last evening was not serious. Injuries to the head were sustained by Mrs. M. C. Scott, aged 55, as the result of being struck by a baker's van while she was crossing Dominion Road near the post office yesterday morning. The injured woman, who resides at Wellesley House, Wellesley Street, was removed to the hospital in the St. John Ambulancp. Her condition last evening was reported to be fair.
There was no improvement last, evening in the condition of Mr. L. Mclnnes, aged 25, of 205, Jervois Road, Herno Bay, who received a severe dislocation of the neck while playing football on Saturday. The condition of George McCathie, aged seven, of 6, Wairiki Road, Mount Eden, who sustained lacerations of the face and an injury to the head in a motor-car collision at Epsom on Sunday evening, is still serious.
