SOUTHLAND FARMERS' TOUR

Southland farmers and their wives, who have been touring Hawke's Bay, broke tbe journey south at Dannevjrke at noon to-day, being entertained at, a luncheon organised by the Citizens' Committee, representing both town and country interests. - Speeches of welcome were delivered by the Mayor, Mr. Marcus Smith, and Mr. James Livingston, president of the Farmers' Union. Subsequently the visitors were taken for a motor ride through the dairying districts before again entraining for Masterton. The visit was marked by fine weather and proved an acceptable break in the ■ train journey*
