! WR. AND MRS. E. JONES, i _ ! I Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jones. of Avoca. j Victoria Street, Hamilton, celebrated the J twenty-fifth anniversary o: their wedding ]on Tuesday evening. A large number ot j guests was present far the occasion. The j rooms were artistically decorated wnh j silver and gold streamers and with willow j catkins. A special feature of the evenI ing was the fine programme, presented. >o which Mesriarces McMuilin, -V. W. Green, Misses McMuilin, .Jones, Messrs. P. Duff;, Mcintosh, C. Lord and E. H. Quill con- ! tribaled. Competitions were held until j supper. A handsome two-tier wending j cake was placed before the host and hostess on the table, which had been charmingly decorated with spring flowers. The toast of the occasion was entrusted to Mr. H. J. MeMullin. who congratulated Mr. I and Mrs. E. Jones, and bore tribute to ( the esteem and respect feit for them. -vir. | Jones, m reply, thanked his numerous j guests for the manner in which they had I come forward to celebrate an occasion | which occurs only once in a lifetime. The I toast of " The Family was given uy i Mr. A. W. Green. To the surprise 01 | the visitors, Mrs. Jones produced a piece • of her originai wedding cake of 2a years J a .. 0 Am one; the manv nresents received j wis a bracelet from 'her mother, who j wore it on the occasion of her wending op j rears ayo The evening concluded witn I choruses and singing of "For They Are ] Jolly Good Fallows " and A met ~.ang | Sync."
