Heavy rain is expected over most of the Dominion, with flooded rivers in many places, but an improvement in conditions should take place shortly in western districts, the storm area passing to the east coast. Variable and strong winds, northerly to uorth-eastcrlies, strong to gale, ruling m northern areas, veering by east to south, followed by southerly to south-easterly gales throughout New Zealand, stormy weather being indicated, especially in the Wellington Province. Seas moderating on the west coast, but becoming heavy on the south-east coast, in the Bay of Plenty and in Cook Strait. A secondary disturbance is forming at the rear of the recent depression, and an intense high barometric pressure system is advancing from tho west.
