HOSPITAL BUILDINGS.

NEW INFIRMARY WARDS. TIME IN PREPARING PLANS. A complaint regarding llio length of time taken to prepare plans for buildings was made by tho Rev. W. C. Wood at a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board yesterday, when a new building scheme was being considered. The building committco reported that in order to cope with tho acuto position in hospital accommodation, duo to somo patients remaining longer than necessary after everything had been done for them in the way of nursing and medical skill, it was proposed to make a comprehensive addition to the male infirmary wards. Tim board's architects had been asked to prepare provisional plans for an additional building of three storeys to accommodate between 75 and 100 men.

"Tho board ordered plans for tho infectious diseases ward at the last meeting of the old board," Mr. Wood said. "There is no sign of them yet. Hero is another batch of plans on order. I should like to know whether it is a sort-of Kathleen Mavourneen affair, or whether these plans are likely to come before us in tho near future. 1 really think it is a matter that should bo hurried." The chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, said that the plans for the now infectious diseases block had been in tho architects' hands for nino months. A great deal of work had been entailed, and ho understood that tho plans would be ready for presentation to tho board at tho end of this month. .
