DISCOVERY OF DRUG.
CONSIGNED TO EMBASSY.
AFGHAN MINISTER CONCERNED-
LONDON, July 11,
Consternation reigns in, the French Foreign Office, and also in the diplomatic corps, says the Paris correspondent of the Daily Mail, following the discovery that four wooden cases from Germany claimed by Sirdar Nabi Khan, a close friend of ex-King Amanulla—he was formerly the Afghan Minister at Paris and is now Minister at Moscow—contained £6OOO worth of heroin and cocaine.
Tho cases were labelled "Second-hand clothing," and were claimed as part of tho "diplomatic valise." One fell off a lorry while they were being taken to tho Embassy, revealing a white powder which was analysed as heroin.
