An all-round reduction is shown in the rates levied by the Thames County Council for the current year. Tlio new scale is as follows, last year's figuics being given in parentheses:—Hastings Hiding, Gjd (6jjd); Totura, (8id) ; ITikutnia, 6|d (7d); Tairua, (6id). Iri addition there is ft drainage ) ate of id in the pound in the Totara and Puriri ridings and a wharf rate of in the pound in the Tairua riding.
