TAUHEI HALL ADDITIONS. TAHUNA RIDING FINANCES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] MORRINSYTLLE, Sunday. The election of officers at the annual meeting of the Tauhei Hall Society resulted as follows President, Mr. H. J. Valentine; vice-president, Mr. L. C. Cheeseman; treasurer and secretary, Mr. R. 11. Haycock; auditor, Mr. C. Ward; commit tee, Messrs. T. Clark, YY. Best, J. Findlay, J. Raynel; library committee, Messrs. Van Brunt, Haycock and Cheeseman. The committee was empowered to prepare plans for additions to the building. A large and representative gathering of settlers farewelled Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Forsman at tho Woodville llall las!, week. Mr. and Mrs. Forsman, who will in future reside at Raglan, were presented with a wallet of bank notes.
Thirty ratepayers attended a meeting at the Tahuna Hall to hear a review of the financial position of the Tahuna Riding of the Piako County by Messrs. W. R. Lowry, chairman, and J. M. Stewart. The speakers said the riding was in debt to the extent of £I6OO. The meeting decided to support an increase of -Jd in the pound in the rates if this was considered necessary. The present rate is slightly over 6d in the pound. Over 200 lambs have been born at -Mr. J. B. Thomas' farm at Kereone.
