PRESBYTERIAN HALL.
BUILDING AT ELLERSLIE.
The ceremony of laying the foundationstone of the new Presbyterian Church hall in Jubilee Road, Ellerslie, was performed on Saturday afternoon by Mr. G. L. Mather, in the unavoidable absence of his father, Mr. R. H. Mather. Under the foundation-stone there was placed a copper cylinder containing a type-written statement concerning the life and work of the church, and particulars of th« new building. The cylinder also contained a list of the ministers and office-bearers up to date, a copy of Saturday's issue of the New Zealand Herald, and a. copy of the latest issue of tho Outlook, the 'Presbyterian Church paper. , A statement concerning tho cylinder and its contents was read by Mr. McKelvie. The service was conducted by the Rev. T. H. Roseveare, deputymoderator, the Rev. J. Hubbard and the Rev. S. E. Hill. The Revs. A. Ctilmour and F. Barton were also present, Tho building, which includes a hall and a. Sunday school, will seat about 300 people, and will be used for Sunday school and Bible class purposes. Church socials and other entertainments will also be held in the hall.
