AND PRINCESS MARY. I have rarely seen the Queen looking so handsome as did Her Majesty one afternoon recently when wearing a long coat of brown and gold brocade, says a correspondent. It was a beautiful chestnut shade and suited the Queen admirably. Tho Queen had come up to London to fulfil some long promised engagement—on this occasion a visit to the Amateur Art Exhibition, which Her .Majesty nevci fails to attend, for she is deeply interested in tho several good works that arc, helped each year by this exhibition. Princess Mary camo with the Queen, and whilo Iler Majesty was purchasing something at one stall, 1 saw tho Princess at another tabic, laden with needlework, select and buy a quilt that had been made by the wife of a miner.
