BRITISH ELECTION INCIDENT,

There was a dramatic scene at a Conservative meeting at Whitehaven in the course of the recent British election campaign when Mrs. Philips Price, wife of the Labour candidate, appeared on the platform at a Conservative meoting and appealed for order for Mr. R. S. Hudson, the Conservative candidate, who was being subjected to considerable interruption by the Labour element. Mrs. Prico protested against the conduct of the interrupters, which sho said was disgraceful. Iler husband, she said had repeatedly asked them to give Mr. Hudson a fair hearing, and sho did not consider thoy were sportsmen. Mrs. Price was cheered as she left tho platform, and the Conservative candidate was afterwards given an attentive hearing.
