GORSE NOT CLEARED.
TAKAPUNA PROSECUTIONS. "Takapuna is doomed; I am afraid it will never go ahead again," said a Takapuna property-owner, J. F. Pullon, who was prosecuted in tho Magistrate's Court yesterday for failing to clear his land of gorse.
Defendant said that he had 23 sections, which he was unable to sell and which would be very expensive to clear. "I am afraid that you aro not very patriotic," said the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt. Ho adjourned the caso for ono month to allow defendant time to clear his property. As a result of other similar prosecutions brought by tho Takapuna Borough Council J. H. Ashby and Mrs. M. Williams were each fined 10s.
