TAXATION ON RACING.
GENERAL REVISION URGED.

"A general revision of the system of racing taxation is urgently required," stated the president's report submitted at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference to-day. "In some cases so far from tho tax being based on the income of tho individual, it is actually levied on a debit balance. This obviously tends ultimately to dry up tho fountain of supply. Wo have again represented our case to tho Government, and wo look for the relief so urgently required."
