THE DOMINION COUNCIL. REMITS AND DECISIONS. [r.Y TELEORAPI!. PRUSH ASSOCIATION. ] DLTXEDIN, Wednesday. The sistceuth annual meeting of the Dominion Howling Council wad opened this morning. The report showed that tho number of clubs on the register was- 311 and membership tIV.OSIi, an increase ot 'l2 on the previous year's total. The increase iu tho past four years was 902. Members of the council resident in Dune.din were appointed the executive for the year. The membership levy was Used at sixpence per member. It was decided that there should bo tightening up of permits to centres which intend holding tournaments about the time of the Dominion tournament. The meeting decided that the Dominion tournament, be started on a Monday and that the order of play be singles first, pairs rccoad and rinks last. The tournament will now start, nu January 1U and tho singles will be played ou the automatic two-life principle, and tho pairs and rinks ou the sectional system. Auckland Centre in a remit suggested that the rules of the association be altered to provide for payment of the travelling expenses of members attending tho first meeting of each newly-elected council, as at present provided for. and 1H per day for hotel expenses for a minimum of two days. It was decided to refer the matter to the centre*-.
