The Takapuna branch of the. League of Mothers held its monthly meeting yesterday afternoon at the Parish llall in An/.ae Street. A large gathering of members attended. .Mrs. d. Bartrum, president ui the branch, introduced Miss Driver, a missionarv from India, who spoke of the work for Christianity that was being done in India, and of how Indian women were benefiting by those changes. Many Cleveland cultured women were to bo found m the schools and colleges which had been built. A short address was given by Mrs. Teasdale, v.lio has lived in India practical I v all her life. The monthly meeting of the city branch of the League of Mothers was held iu Mveis kindergarten yesterday afternoon, when the president, Mrs. I'. A. Lindsay, presided over a largo attendance. An address was given I'.v l>r Mildred St ale v, who has recently returned frem a lioli.liiv abroad, and her account of conditions in America in regard to women and children was ino.-,t interestingly given. Songs bv Mrs. Hobday and humoroii.i re itations by Miss Aileeii Adkins were also g'reatlv appreciated.
