VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB.

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.

The Victoria Cruising Club's annual distribution of prizes and dance took place in the Manchester Unity Hall last evening. There was a largo attendance of members and visitors, including representatives from all the local yacht and launch clubs. The display of prizes was a splendid one. there being ninny useful articles and valuable cups, and, in addition to these, JECO was also donated in cash prizes.

In presenting the trophies to the successful boatowners, Mr. E. R. Davis, vicc-pa tron, apologised for tho absence of the patron, Mr. E. 11. Davi3, and tho president. Mr. V/. L. Casey. Mr. Davis said the prist season was a most successful one. Six days were devoted to racing, which was keen, while tho sailing conditions were very favourable. lie was pleased to announco that, the Rakoa and the Opah had tied for tho Anzac Cup. presented to tho boat scouring tho largest number of points during the season. The Victoria. Club, said the speaker, was one of tho most successful yacht clubs in the Dominion; and this "was mainly duo to tho efforts of thu officers, Me.'sra. E. Griffiths, commodore. L. A. Tercell, vicccommodore, J. Lindsay, rear.commodore. \V. J. Matthews, (secretary. (J. Mobberlcy, assistant secretary, and T. Thompson, clubhouse captain. The most important trophies were won by tho following boats;- Anzac Cup, Rakoa find Opab. dead heat, with 28 points each; Sundale Shield and Mackay Memorial Shield, Wairiki; President's Cup, Qi'.ccnP; Boonstra Memorial Cup, Shaiimar; Rue Cup.
