CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS.
Sir, —About 2000 years ago Christ summarised His teaching in tlio pleading admonition, "That yo love one aiiotl icr"; the unconditional acceptance of which only will render war-madness impossible. "Presbyterian" would attempt to demonstrate that Christ was in favour of force, whereas the learning of others is that Christ was the God of Love. He did not drive, Ho drew men unto Him. My position is that 1 do not believe Christian love and war-madness are compatible, nor do I believe that hoping for the best will ever prevent war of the future. The youth of to-day is beginning to see that the old muddle of family squabbles between nations must bo cleaned away, and we must, although 2000 years late in beginning, start to practise the teaching of Christ by visualising the human family as a whole. This is the only way we shall save the world—and it must be done quickly. Let all we who saw the bloody bestiality and' helpless ineffectiveness of war-madness stand together and say: "There must bo no more war." And then let us get to work to prevent war. R.L.S.
