THE ROTARY CLUB.
OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR.
The first evening meeting of its new year was held by (ho Auckland Rotary Club last evening. There was a largo attendance of members.
The annual report and treasurer's: report wero adopted. It was stated the membership of the club was now 146, which is an increase for tho year of 16 members.
The retiring president, Mr. George Hutchison, thanked the officers and members for tho support they had given him during his term of office, and then invited the president-elect, Mr. S. Reid, to take the chair. New officers were announced as follows: —Vice-president, Mr. S. J. Harbutt; directors, Mr. R. Angus, Mr. F. A. llcllaby, Mr. A. G. Poison, Mr. T. U. Wells and Mr. Geo. Hutchison; hon. secretary, Mr. J. A. Gentles; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. P. O'Connor; hon. auditor, Mr. J. M. E'.liffo; publicity officer, Mr. J. F. Sluinly. Tho personnel of all committees was also announced.
In submitting his programme for tho year Mr. lleid stressed tho responsibility of overy individual member to help and further tho aims and objects of Rotary. It waS not only required that members should assist, those activities started or supported by the club, but also that they should put the ideals of Rotary into practice by helping all worthy community services or activities.
