AUCKLAND ACCIDENTS.
BOY BREAKS HIS LEG.
MISHAP IN FOOTBALL MATCH. A fracture of the leg -was sustained by Norman Scelly, aged 12, while playing football at the Show Grounds, Epsom, yesterday afternoon. The boy, whose parents reside at 6, Spencer Street, Remuera, was taken to the Auckland Hospital, Minor injuries to the leg were sustained by Mr. J. A. Booth, painter, as the result of falling from a ladder while at work on the cable ship Iris at the Calliope Dock, j ; bout eleven o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Booth was brought across the harbour in a launch, and was taken to the Auck* land Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. The injured man was later able to leave the hospital. The condition of Leonard Chapman, aged four years, who was admitted to the Auckland Hospital in a critical condition late on Thursday afternoon, was still serious last evening. The boy was crossing the istreet at the foot of Franklin Road when Ihe was struck by a motor-car, one wheel passing over his body. He sustained a fracture of the leg and serious injuries to the head.
