AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
SHOW TROPHIES DONATED. The council of the Auckland Agricultural anri Pastoral Association met yesterday, the president, Mr. J. T. F. Mitchell, presiding. A letter was received from the Jersey Breeders' Club stating tho club had decided to co-operate with tho association by doing its utmost to secure a record ontry of Jerseys for tho Summer Show, while a special committee had been appointed to deal with tho question of classification. Tho club felt that all moneys donated by the club should be awarded as special prizes in tho Jersey classes, and not used to augment tho awards made by the association. Mr. A. I). Bell, who was nominated as tho association's representative on tho Meat Producers' Board, wroto declining nomination. Tho offer of a prize of £2 23 donated by tho Ryland Sheep Society for tho best Rylnnd ram hoggot at tho show was received with thanks. The secretary, Mr. W. J. O'Donnell, reported that he had rocoived an offer of an old cup which might prove to havo an interesting history, as it was discovered among relics at the OKI Stone Jug. The trophy was in perfect condition, and was offered as a challenge cup in tlie weakest section at the show. The donor, Mr. Dutton, also offered to give a medal to the winner each year. The donations wore accepted with thanks.
