FUNDS FOR FIRE BRIGADE.
CONCERT AT HENDERSON. The Henderson Volunteer Firo Brigade held its first grand concert and social in tlie Henderson Town Hall on Thursday evening, the object being to raise funds for the purchase of firo fighting equipment. An audienco of approximately 400 people was presont, including members of the Henderson Town Board and representatives from tho Mount Eden, Panmure, Re muera, Otahuhu and Nowmarkot Fire Bri gades. Die programme was an excellent one, songs being contributed by Mesdames Roich and Clark, and Messrs. B H. Buscombc and 0. Firkin; instrumental items by Mr. and Mrs. Reich, and reci tations by Mr H 0. Cutler Cards were provided in the upper room, and dancing: was indulged in until a late hour, tho music being provided by the Astonian Orchestra. Supper concluded an enjoyable evening
