THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE.

BRISK BUSINESS YESTERDAY. Brisk business was transacted on the Auckland Slock Exchnngo yesterday. There was littlo doing in Government securities, buyers maintaining tho recent advanco in offers, but most sellors still standing off. Makerua Drainage Board debentures, 19-16, 6 per cent., sold at £lO3 10s, and New Zealand Breweries debentures at 26s 9d, 3d below the level of tho last transaction.

In banks Nationals of New Zealand firmed Is with a sale at £7 4s, and there was closing inquiry at .£7 3s, sellers £7 6s. Commercials of Australia were easier. In insuranco, South British were again done at 68s, and a late salo from tho previous day at tho same figure was recorded.

In tho loan and agency section Golds brough, Morts were twice dono at 47s 9d, an advance of 9d, and there were closing offers of 47s 6d. In coal two sales of Renowns were made at 15s 4d, lOd higher than tho last sale, and buyers wanted moro at 15s Id, sellers 15s 6d. Taupir:s and Waipas wero in firmer demand. In gas Aucklands sold Id easier at 24s 5(1, and offers for Gisbornes wero advanced 3d to 10s 9d.

In breweries New Zealands wero offered Is cheaper at 78s 6d at tho final call, buyers 765. In tho miscellaneous section Colonial Sugars sold at £57 12s 6d, 2s 6d below tho level of tho last sale. Electrolytic Zincs were dono Id cheaper at 35s 9d and Hayward's Pictures sold, ex div., at 19s 3d, compared with the last sale, cum div., at 20s 3d; Sanforcls were unchanged with two snips at 18s 3d. There was firmer inquiry for Booth, Macdonalds. Taranaki Oils were offered Is cheaper at 3s, buyers declining 3d to 2s 6d. CLOSING QUOTATIONS.
