WEEK-END WEATHER. I-lERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. Tho following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Fair to cloudy weather is indicated, with considerable mist and fog in coastal areas, and cloudiness increasing for change to unsettled conditions to follow. Rain is expected over most of tho Dominion, central districts of tho North Island being especially affected Cold temperatures, but becoming milder gradually. Easterly to north-easterly winds, moderate to strong, freshening, and increasing strong to gale in districts northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and strong northerlies prevailing in southorn areas Seas rough arid increasing on the east coast. Moderato seas on tho west coast. The now disturbance, which is at present centred on the south west Tasman Sea, is of considerable extent and energy, a cyclonic storm centre being associated with tho depression. Tho Government meteorologist reported last evening 33 follows:—A rather deep depression 'is located in the southern Tasman Sea. Tho recent anti-cyclone is now centred to tho cast of New Zealand. Indications are for northerly winds, gradually becoming strong in most districts. Seas smooth to moderate generally, but rising later south of Capo Egmont. Moderate to strong northerly winds in the eastern Tasrnat. Sea; seas becoming rough in the central and southern portion. Weather fmo at first, but with increas ing cloud and haziness and rain gradually developing in western districts. Mild temperatures. Conditions appear unfavourable for the week-end. RAINFALL RECORD.
