MUSEUM EXHIBITS.
- MANY RECENT GIFTS. PORCELAIN COINAGE REPLICAS. Various interesting exhibits have arrived at the Auckland Museum recently, many of them from abroad. Among tho most interesting is a set of porcelain replicas of a coinage issued in Saxony in 1921, and immediately withdrawn. They were made at Dresden, and were obtained for the museum by Mr. Moss Davis, of London, through Mr. F. Bauer, of Monte Carlo. A Now Zealand ensign, which was flown at Jersey throughout tho Great War, has been received from Mrs. G. Felton, through the High Commissioner's office in London. A Tibetan Bible, printed on wooden strips, and obtained at Lhassa, comes from Dr. D. N. W. Murray. A splendid collection of ethnographical articles has been sent from Papua by a missionary, Mr. G. Moir Smith, at tho request of Sir George Fowlds. A collection of Melanesiau. ethnographical articles has been received from Mrs. Jackson, of Mount Edon Road.
From Mr. W. W. Boulton, of Tahiti, there have been received interesting examples of Tahitian weaving. Four stone axes, of Maori origin, have been presented by Mrs. and Miss Finlayson, of Waipu.
