WHEN DRESSMAKING.
KEEP AN JROxN READY. You'll invariably find that the wellgroomed girl keeps an iron always handy especially when making or renovating clothes. Double-width material, when bought, has a crease down the centre from being folded, and this, after making up, comes down the middle of the back. Home dressmakers quite often forget to iron this creaso away before wearing the new garment —and so spoil the effect. When dressmaking, press open every soam as you go along; this makes all tho difference. Lay the stuff wrong side up and press tho closed seam under a thin cloth; Then open out with one hand, rubbing Ihe seain hard with a damp cloth until the turnings lie out flat. Put a cloth over it and press slowly and heavily Proper pressure of seams will givo a more professional look to your garments
