RHODODENDRONS.
SUMMER SHADE NEEDED. Hhododendrons may be justly classed as the most noble, beautiful and attractive of all evergreen flowering shrubs. With the exception of a few of the hardiest varieties that will thrive under ordinary conditions provided their roots are not interefered with and there is no lime in the soil, the better varieties, including the magnificent flowering new hybrids, must be provided with proper soil conditions to give anything like successful results. Partial shade should also be provided during the summer. For this purposo suitable deciduous trees arc tho best. Tho good-growing varieties of Japaneso flowering cherry are ideal for providing tho requiste shade.
