"CAT" BURGLAR.
YOUNG MAN IN COURT. REMAND UNTIL NEXT WEEK. Reginald Gordon Cotterill, aged 23, described by the police as "the " cat" burglar, who had recently broken into numerous premises in Auckland, appeared before Mr. F. ■ K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Accused, whose occupation was stated to be that of motor : bus driver, was charged with . breaking and entering Brookfield Chambers, Shortland Street, on June 16, and stealing a revolver and 4s in money, and with obtaining a motorcar from Edgar Pearce by means of a valueless cheque, with intent to defraud. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said that there were other charges to be brought against accused relative to the breaking and entering of premises. On his application accused was remanded until next Thursday.
