TWENTY OWNERS FINED. Twenty owners of wireless sets who failed to take out licences were fined by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. . Referring to J. K. Stewart, of Helensfille, Sub-Inspector McCarthy said a most glaring breach had been committed wilfully. Defendant erected an aerial right opposite the post office and installed the latest equipment. He then flatly refused to take < out a licence to operate the set.' A fine of £2 with costs was imposed. The following were each fined £1 with costs for similar offences: —W. J. Bird, F. C. Baker, L. S. Bates, F. H. Conway, A. S. Coventry, W. G. Carew, H. R. Duggan, P. J. Davison, W. G. N. Hutchison, R. Horn, D; E. Harkness, R. M. Harris, R. W. Kirlcpatrick, Ethel C. .Pcckham, W. Parkinson, L. P. Potter, A. E. Patterson, J. Robb and- Ida Ritchie. Marion McQuarrio was ordered to pay "costs.
