READING THE MINUTES.
PCfINT RAISED AT MEETING. An unusual point was raised at a recent meeting of the Dannevirke Hospital Board in connection with the confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting.Members had been supplied with a copy, of the minutes, as has been the custom, ami in view of this fact the usual formal resolution that the minutes be taken as read was moved. To this Mr. J. Harding, one of the recently-appointed members, demurred, declaring that tha minutes as written in the minute book could not be confirmed unless they were read for comparison with the typed copy supplied to meriibers, or alternatively one of the typed copies pasted in the minute book. The chairman, Mr. D. Drummond, pointed out that if the minutes had to be read at each meeting there was no object in supplying members with a copy. This was done specially to save the time of the meeting. Mr. Harding, however, stuck to his point, and the minutes were therefore read before being confirmed.
