BRITAIN AND RUSSIA.
RECENT TRADE DELEGATION,
GOOD ORDERS OBTAINED. Australian Press Association-United Service LONDON, May 23. Mr. Ernest Remnant, editor of the English Review, who was a member of the recent British trade delegation to Russia, has returned to London. Ho says he is more than satisfied with tho results achieved by the delegation. The majority of tho members of tho important firms represented believed it had been well worth whilo and that the objects, dosired were achieved. Many of tho representatives had informed him that orders for their requirements had disclosed that they would be ensured of working at full capacity foi several years.
Mr. Remnant said ho had always insisted that diplomatic recognition should bo conditional upon Russia's undertaking both to compensate British subjects for their claims prior to 1917, and to cease hostile propaganda. The delegation obtained assurances in both respects which he regarded as satisfactory.
