PRESENTATIONS.

Tc mark the retirement from church officeii of Mr. H. Rennison, members of the congregation of the Church of the Epiphany tendered him a reception during the week. The vicar, thci Rev. R. G. Coats, in handing Mr. Rennison a cheque, referred to his valuable services to the church as a vestryman for six years and vicar's warden for over 10 years.

The presentation of a small greenstone "tiki" was made to Mr. H. M. Rushworth, M.P., by delegates attending the annual conference of the Auckland provincial branch of the Farmers" Union. The president, 51 r. A. A. Ross, said the "tiki" was a talisman for the member as the first Parliamentary representative of the Country Party. It had been picked up 30 years ago on the Ahipara Beach, North Auckland, and had evidently belonged to some Maori chief. At a meeting of the Otahuhu Borough Council on Thursday evening the Mayor, Mi-. H. T. Clements, made s. presentation of a Westminster chiming; clock, on behalf of the council, to Mr. J. Avres, who has retired after 15 years' service with the council. Mr. Clements spoke highly of the manner in which Mr. Avres had performed his duties and wished him many years of happiness on his retirement. Mr. Ayres suitably acknowledged the gift. At a meeting of the Kawakawa Chamber of Commerce a presentation was made to Mr. R. Bridge, who has been manager of the Kawakawa branch of the Bank of New South Wales for the past 10 years and has been transferred on promotion. to the managership of the Blenheim branch of the bank. On behalf of the chamber and townspeople Mr. T. J. V. Dunlop, president, presented Mr. Bridge with ai clock as a mark of esteem and expressed the best wishes of the people for his future welfare. Mr. G. L. Leaity, chairman of committee of the Bay of Islands Racing Club, presented to Mr. Bridge, on behalf of the club, a solid leather suitcase, as a mark of appreciation of services rendered to the club in the capacity of a committeeman.
