A MISSING TROWEL.
ARCHBISHOP'S EXPERIENCE.
That it is sometimes necessary for an archbishop to know something about the manual side as well as the ecclesiastical in laying foundation stones was seen in Cliristchurch last Saturday, when Archbishop Julius performed a ceremony nt the Phillipstown Church. He was entering upon the practical part of the service in placing in position the foundation stone of the memorial chancel when it was discovered that the builder's trowel was missing. The archbishop did the work himself with the silver trowel usually in evidence on such occasions, and it was with a, twinkling eye that ha emphatically declared tbo stone "well and truly laid."
