The links were in good order. The best gross score played in conjunction with the morning medal handicap resulted in a tie, B. H. Menzies and P. Trice returning cards of 78. In the play-off Trice won by one stroke. The medal handicap for players under 18 handicap was won by J. Swanson, 79, 12—G7; over 19 handicap, H. Wright, 89, 21 —05. WAIMATE NORTH CUB. The balance-sheet presented at the first annual meeting of the Waimate North Golf Club showed a credit in hand, and a successful new season was assured. The president commented upon the kind action of Mr. W. Atkinson in giving the use 'of his links free of charge to the club, and made reference to the competent management by all officials of the club.
