PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION
; NEW SOCIETY FORMED. With the object of stimulating interest in municipal and local body affairs an Auckland Ratepayers' Progressive Association was formed at a meeting at the Leys Institute, Ponsonby, on Wednesday evening. The organisation proposes to create interest in transport, harbour and hospital affairs and to review periodically the activities of bodies concerned with municipal and local matters. It is proposed to form branches of the association in the city Hid suburbs. The following provisional officers were elected President, Mr. T. C. Pow; vicepresident, Mr, R. Cotteral: secretary, Mr. C. Clarke.
