A BIBLICAL DRAMA.
BROADCASTING EXPERIMENT [FROM I'UR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] SYDNEY, May 15. To the joy of the church foik of Syd ney, who cling to thy old-fashioned but popular selected church services "over the air," when tJicy cannot attend church itself, or do not, as Saircy Gamp says, feel "diHpoged" that way, broadcasting of a Biblical drama, "Daniel," has been testc-d and found wanting. It is not the cast which put "Daniel" on the wireless that has been brought to judgment by listeners-in. Their complaint is that, as it came to them over the air, there was little of the religious atmosphere about it, that it sounded much like any other drama, and was thus divested of any spiritual appeal or beauty which it, might have possessed. Indications arc that Sydney churchgoers who sit by their wireless gadgets on Sunday nights instead of going to church and putting their coins in the collection plate, emphatically do not want Biblical dramas by that medium.
