MUSIC TEACHERS' BOARD.
FIRST MEETING HELD. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. The inaugural meeting of the newlyconstituted Music Teachers' Registration Board was held to-day, the membei'3 present being Messrs. Robert Parker and L. F. Watkins (Wellington), Mr. H. B. Coney and Dr. T. N. Phillips (Auckland), Messrs. A. J. Merton and S. Williamson (Canterbury), Dr. Calway and Mr. C. Gray (Otago) and Mr. ,T. Porteous, senior inspector of native schools, who is the Government representative, in the absence of the Minister of Education and the Director of Education. . Tho assistant Director of Education, Mr. A. Bell, presided at first, and outlined the functions of the board. Later Mr. Parker was unanimously elected tho first chairman. Mr. E. C. Cachemaille was appointed registrar.
