MIGRATION OF JEWS.
THE PALESTINE RECORDS. Although the number of Jewish immigrants into Palestine during 1928 was only 2178, fewer than in any year since 1922, when the census of Palestine was taken, it shows a majority of 10 over the number of those Jews who emigrated from the Holy Land in that year, 2168. This is in marked contrast with the figures for 1927, when 5071 Jews left and only 2713 entered Palestine —a balance of 2358 in the other direction. During the seven years since the, census the greatest number of Jewish immigrants in any one year was 33,801, in 1925, and the greatest number of emigrants was 7365, in 1926. Up to the end of last year, 79,894 Jews had entered Palestine since January, 1922, and 22,225 had left, in addition to those who emigrated during the first six months of 1924, for which no figures are available.
