MAN FOUND HANGING.
VERDICT OF SUICIDE. A verdict of suicide by hanging, while in a state of mental depression was returned by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., coroner, at the inquest on' Saturday 011 Walter Stephenson, who was found dead in a motor" garage at his home in Mont Lb Grande Road, Mount Eden, on Thuisday. Stephenson, who was married, aged 41, with ono child, was until recently instructor in carpentry at the Seddon Memorial Technical College, but was shortly 'to have joined the staff of the Rotorua High School. Evidence was given by John 'Alfred Danielson, father-in-law of deceased, that he found deceased hanging from a, rafter in the garage. Deceased had been very " nervy " of late, and had been upset i&t resigning his position at. the Technical College and having to break up his homo to go to Rotorua, but had never mentioned suicide. Deceased had suffered a nervous breakdown eight years ago, from which he never fully recovered. Ho had been gassed three times and had suffered a nervous breakdown on active service, He had no financial worry, and his home was happy.
