LIFE SAYING SOCIETY.
GOOD REPORT FOR YEAR.
APPRECIATION BY KING. LONDON, May 6. The King, in a message to Lord Destorough, the president, acknowledging the receipt of the annual report of tho Pioyal Life Saving Society, says he regrets the death of the society's foundersecretary, Mr. William Henry. Tho letter says: "His Majesty is confident that others will take his place and that their aim will be to keep the society et the high standard it has attained."
It will bo recalled that Mr. Henry ;was well known to many Australians, particularly during the war, when his London house was visited by hundreds bf Diggers, among them famous swimmers, including Cecil Healy. The report shows that 52,000 awards were made in 1928. which exceeds the 1927 .figures by 6000.
